More About Tattoo Designs

When you become an adult, there are many new things that open up for you. Though there are some parents that will allow teenagers still living at home to get a tattoo, most say that they will have to wait until they are on their own. This is understandable, as some teens simply do not understand the longevity of something that will be on them for the rest of their lives. However, when the time comes and you know you want something, you have to find the right tattoo designs so that you are sure you can live with your new tattoo for the rest of your life with no regret.

One important thing to remember when you are looking at tattoo designs is that you should never get any names tattooed on your skin. You can make an exception for your children, but that should be the only one. You may love someone and even be married to them, but that may go sour in the future and you will be stuck with their name on your skin. There are other ways you can proclaim your love for someone without putting their names into your tattoo designs. Hopefully your love will last a lifetime, but you don’t want to regret it if it does not.

Instead of going with names, think about things that you love for your tattoo designs. These should be things that have always fascinated you, not things that might just be passing fads. That way you can be relatively sure that you will still like your tattoo designs a few years down the road. You can even get abstract designs for tattoos that catch your eye, but don’t go with something that does not seem to be in the ordinarily realm of things that you like. Out of the ordinary might mean you are not going to like it within five or ten years.

When looking for your tattoo designs, you have a few options. There are books full of them that you can buy in your local bookstore or online. You can also find some for free online, though don’t use anything that you sort-of like. Find something you really like. You can also see what they have in the way of designs for tattoos when you choose a good shop to go to. They may even design something especially for you if you go to the right place.

The Right Tattoo Artist

For me, finding the right tattoo artist was really important. Getting a tattoo design is not something you should take lightly. It is true that there are some people who just, on the spur of the moment, walk into a tattoo studio and get some random tribal tattoo done. For the rest of us, however, getting ink is a pretty involved decision.

You see, tattoo artists are artists in the truest sense of the word. Each one has his or her own unique style, as well as individual strengths and weaknesses. There are some who specialize in Celtic tattoos. Celtic knots and crosses are pretty involved, and to really master them a tattoo artist has to spend years working on that particular style. Other people specialize in pin-up girls, cartoon style tattoos, biker tats, or something else.

That isn’t to say that every tattoo artist can only do one thing. As a matter of fact, most tattoo parlors are willing to ink pretty much anything that you bring in. Even so, you don’t want to go to someone who doesn’t really have their heart in it. If you are just going in for something that is kind of basic – say a simple tribal tattoo or a navy star – you can probably get it done anywhere. If you want some ink that is a bit more individualistic and artsy, however, you should find someone who has a passion for that style. After all, a lousy tattoo will look lousy forever.

The tattoo artist that I go to is actually one of my friends. Right when he started to do work, he wanted to tattoo me. I was just a bit hesitant about it at first. He was not all that experienced, and back then his work did not look very good. I figured that I would wait until he had done a bit more and then let him have a go.

I’m glad that I waited. Within a year and a half, his work was a whole lot better. In truth, the difference was like night and day. He learned shading, detailed lines, and a lot of other things that he had not been able to do all that well to begin with. The particular design that I had in mind was pretty elaborate, so it was good that he was so skilled by the time I finally had him do it.

Temporary tattoo designs are now very popular. At one time there were only a few sources to get hold of your temporary tattoo designs such as the dispensing machines or local store if you were lucky, but these days they are very widely available. When I was little we used to think how fantastic we were by sporting a temporary tattoo. They weren’t much fun to pull off if they didn’t go on properly but that never stopped us. Temporary tattoos are also a great ‘primer’ when deciding on whether or not you really want to go the whole hog and get a real life one.

You can source temporary tattoos in a wide variety of depictions and sizes, from small to large. You name it, the design is available in temporary tattoo design form, from the more traditional tattoos to ultra cool, funky and stylish modern ones. Want a cute dolphin on your left shoulder to try out? No problem. How about a barbed wire depiction on your ankle. You got it. You may want to opt for a word phrase in graphic art tattoo form. Well, those are available too.

I have noticed a trend in real life tattoos towards all black ink designs. You can also find these in the form of temporary tattoo designs and they are well worth taking a look at as they cover a multitude of subject matters.

Celtic designs are every popular and this is no exception with temporary tattoo designs. When considering these rather more traditional designs in real life, you may want to try a temporary one first. It is a good idea to choose a real life tattoo that has some importance to you as an individual or at least something you can identify with. A temporary tattoo affords you the luxury of trying out different designs and how they would look without worrying about the reasons you are choosing the tattoo to adorn your body.

There are even packages available on the market that allow you to make your own temporary tattoo designs. How fantastic. You design the tattoo using what is available in the package and then transfer them onto the desired part of your body that you wish the tattoo to be. Above all, temporary tattoo designs are great fun and anybody can give them a go without having to commit full time to a real tattoo.

Nowadays, just as we, Japanese people, love to use English symbols or phrase on T-shirt, Logo or jewely design, Westerners start to use Japanese Kanji Symbols for their own design needs as well.

The most popular use of Japanese Symbols is for tattoo designs, and today, this article tells you how your name is translated into Japanese Kanji symbols.

Although there are 3 different Japanese scripts called Kanji, Hiragana and Katakana, the most popular Japanese symbol as a tattoo design is Kanji.

Kanji are ideographic characters.

It means that each of Kanji symbol represent not just a sound, but an object or idea. Historically, it is imported from China.

Now, when we write names in Japanese kanji symbols, we can use several different ways to translate. First of all, the key to successfully rendering a name into Japanese symbol is deciding what you want to achieve.

Today, a professional way of Japanse name translation is disscussed. That is, the phonetic and eulogistic transcription, and used when you want to get both the pronunciation and the original meaning of your name.

In this case, we choose a kanji symbol according to each character’s sound, and also combine them with an appropriate meaning.

For example, we write Emma in Japnase kanji symbols.
Emma can be written by using 2 kanji symbols.
The pronunciation becomes “e ma” in Japanese, while the meaning is “Eternal Truth”.
You see, we use the Japanese kanji symbol which has “e” sound and “ma” sound, and in this case, we have chosen Eternal kanji symbol whose sound is “e” and truth kanji symbol whose sound is “ma”.

Also, Kanji has 2 different ways to read and has several different sounds.
So, let me also mentioned about the Kunyomi and the Onyomi.

The onyomi has developed from the original Chinese pronunciation but over the centuries it has been adapted to and become part of the Japanese language.
On the other hand, the kunyomi is native Japanese word.

To write names, we use both kunyomi and Onyomi reading.
But, English names are usually translated with Onyomi reading, and if the sound of onyomi reading of a kanji character is the same as the sound of your name, its kanji character is allocated.

When you get a tattoo, you are usually completely at the mercy of your tattooist’s artistic style. Every tattoo artist has an individual style they like to do. If you ask for a specific type of drawing, such as a dragon, a tree, or whatever else, they will render it as true to your description as possible, but they will do it in a unique and personal style. That is why, if you’re partial about your design and want to get just the right look, it can be helpful to look at a lot of tattoo galleries.

You see, the majority of people who come in to get tattoos don’t have really specific requests. They have a general idea for a design they want on their body, but they don’t specify the way the lines should be drawn. That is why tattooists have to develop their own styles. They’re required to make all those sorts of decisions, down to the shading and details of the tattoo. With tattoo galleries, however, you can find the design of your choice. You can look for exactly the style you like and then have an artist do that style for you. You can even compare your design to an artist’s own tattoo gallery to see if it is compatible. For example, if you want a simple tattoo done with clean, elegant lines, you probably don’t want to go to a tattoo artist who uses complex shading and intricate style.

Of course you shouldn’t feel limited by what you can find in tattoo galleries. Most people who do tattooing are qualified, original artists who can do pretty much anything they want. If there’s a piece of fantasy art, for example, or a cartoon image that you would like to have on your body, you can probably have them do it. I even have met people who have combined multiple cartoons done in multiple styles into one single tattoo, and according to many tattoo artists, this approach is not unusual.

I have a friend who designed his own tattoos, and he also has collected hundreds of pictures of designs. I visited him the other day and took a look through his tattoo galleries, and was surprised by the variety I saw. It seems that, for every art form out there, there’s a tattoo artist willing to come up with a convincing imitation.  I saw tattoo galleries in manga style, galleys that mimicked old pencil drawings from children’s books, and of course lots of sailor Jerry stuff and other classic tattoo designs. I saw things that I didn’t even know how to categorize and some things that were so new that there probably were not names for them. It was inspiring to see so much artistry.
